HAWERA v. NEW PLYMOUTH.
HAWERA STILL RETAINS THE SHIELD.
The New Plymouth Rifle Club fired a challenge * match with the Hawera Club for the Rifle Clubs' Challenge Shield at the Whareroa range on Thursday, and the local club were successful' in. retaining the shield by a substantial majority of 36 points. The wand was strong, yet good scores were made. It is understood that already three challenges are in the hands of the shield's competition secretary in New Plymouth. The following is a completed list of the scores:—
