BEEKEEPERS' CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, June 13. At the Beekeepers' Conference, it was resolved that all apiaries be registred annually, and that provision be made for the enforcing*of a substantial penalty for failure to register. It was decided that a deputation wait on the Minister of Railways to draw attention to the unfair handicap placed on the industry by the present freight charged, and ask him that honey be placed in a schedule not higher than butter. It was also resolved that the penalty for breaches of the Apairies Act be increased, the maximum penalty to be raised to' £20. The Conference concluded to-day. I Officers were elected as follows: President, Mr J. Allen; vice-president, Mr W. Watson; executive, Messrs A. H. Davis, J. D. Adams, It. McKnight, J. Cotter ell, H. 11. Penny; secretary and editor of the Journal, Mr F. C. Baines.
