HONORING RETURNED SOLDIERS
Last week a ceremony of considerable interest to the people of the district was held at Whareroa Hall, when soldiers who went from the Lake road were welcomed back, and each presented with a handsome gold medal as a slight recognition by their neighbors and friends of their assistance m the cause of King and country. Rev. C H. Grant Cowen presided, and in a patriotic speech stated the objects ot the gathering, and on behalf of the people present complimented the boys on their good service. Altogether ever twenty medals were presented.
