WEDDING BELLS

On Monday last, June 10, Miss Ada Ogle and Lance-Corporal A. 0. Nickel were united in holy matrimony at the Wesleyan Church, Hawera, by the Rev. A. Liversedge. The bride, who was given away by her father, was charmingly attired in a gown of white silk, and wore a wreath and veil, the latter having been specially embroidered by her sister-in-law, Mrs W. Ogle, Bell Block. The bridesmaid, Miss Lilian Ogle, wore a dress of cream eolienne silk. Both bride and bridesmaid ' carried shower bouquets of chrysanthemums and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom was attended by Private Garfield Ogle as best man. The church was decorated for the occasion by Sister Nellie, while Mr Morshead officiated at the organ. After the ceremony a reception and wedding breakfast was held at the Central Tea Rooms, at which a number of friends and relatives were present. The Rev. A. Liversedge proposed the toast of the bride and bridegroom, while that of the bridesmaid was proposed by Mr Liggins. The happy pair left by motor for New Plymouth, where they are spending the honeymoon, and on their return they are * entering into the occupancy of one of the Opeke Downs farms, soon to be vacated by Mr Willan. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a silver tea service with an oak tray, and that to the bridesmaid was a lady's fitted, dressing case. Amongst the presents received by the bride was a unique and valuable old linen table cloth from her uncle, Mr Win. Ogle, which was spun and made by an ancestress in 1807. The young "couple have the goodwishes of their friends and neighbors for their welfare and happiness in their married life.
