The N.Z. Loan" and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd. (Hawera branch) report as follows: At Opunake on Monday, May 19, we had a small yarding, which was hard to quit. Prices were as follows: 2J to 3-year steers £8, 22-month steers £5 3s, f.m. ewes 11s., At Manaia-on 20th inst., we had a fair yarding of stock, which changed hands at\late rates. Forward cows £7 17s to £8 17s, store cows £4 15s to £6 10s. boners £3 12s, to £4 ss, empty heifers £5. . •, ' On* Wednesday, 21st inst., we held a suocessful sale at Alton on account of Mr Charles Amos,. who is leaving the district. His small herd of dairy cows made £11 10s to £18. empty cows £5 5s to £7 16s, fat lambs £1 0s 6d, weaner heifers £1 11s, 20-month in-calf heifers £8 10s. Sundries sold well at ruling prices. At Palmer road on Friday^ 23rd inst., we had a small yarding of cattle, which sold at late rates. Prices were as follows: Forward cows £7 15s to £8 16s, store cows £5 19s to £6 10s, boners £4 7s 6d. At Waverley on Friday, 23rd inst., we had a small yarding. Prices were as follows: 18 to 20-month steers £4 13s 6d, 4-tooth wethers £1 2s 6d, weaner pigs 10s.
