PLUNKET SOCIETY
ELTHAM BRANCH. The annual meeting of the Mtham branch, of the Pltinket Society was held in the Anglican Sunday School.' Unfortunately it was not nearly as well attended as heretofore, though the gentlemen honorary members were to be commended for " their interest. Dr Cooper expressed his conversion to a thorough, belief in the splendid system of child rearing, as taught by Dr. TVuby King in the Plunket Society's rules, having an 'infant under his "own roof who is being brought up strictly on Pluuket lines with every success. The Hon. W. C. Carii cross also gave an interesting address, and urged the Society to persevere in their noble and most useful work and also in their present endeavor to -secure as a peace memorial a isite in a suitable position for ■ the erection of rooms to belong to the Pltinket Society. At present the.-Soci-ety had only been able to have rooms which were otherwise unoccupied, and though the committee appreciate the generosity of the owners in allowing us the use of their property, we feel that the time has come when such a widelyknown and steadily-growing institution should be suitably provided for in Eltham. . - * ■ Nurse Dixs year's work was favorably reviewed, though Dr, Cooper expressed the wish that, more expectant mothers would seek the nurse's advice. After the usual thanks to the chairman (Hon. W. C. Carncrops) the meeting adjourned.
