MAN'S STRANGE ACT..
Individuals have been known to swallow their principles. It is. not so often one hears of a man swallowing a badge which is supposed to denote nis principles. Yet this happened in Sydney the other day, when a man appeared- as "prisoner's friend" for z>. German charged before a military tribunal. A military officer associated with the trial noticed the 1.W.W.. badge in the lape lof this man's coat.. He pointed out to him that under a War Precautions, Act regulation he was committing an offence.
"Well, what do you propose to do?" enquired the offender. '-* "I think," was the reply, "that the offence will be met if I confiscate the badge." "Right," wae the response. And the offender took the badge out of hia coat, and just as the officer thought itwas going to be handed to him, instead it went into the man's mouth and waspromptly swallowed.
