STRIKE TROUBLES EXTENDING.

! TROOPS IN CHARGE OF SOUTH WALES RAILWAYS.

LONDON, Sep. 25. It is estimated that 120,000 miners 60,000 munition workers, and 40,000 steel workers are idle in Wales alone. The strike continues to extend. The north of London railways are entirely closed, and other suburban lines are badly hampered. There was a complete stoppage of traffic from Tilbury docks.

Troops are taking charge of the South Wales railways. The first four contingents of six hundred have arrived at Newport, and were cheered. Mr Thomas, addressing a mass meeting of strikers at Cardiff, said: "You have shattered all our prestige and all my influence. I will see thi6 through and then cease to be your general secretary." A mass meeting of railwaymen at Cardiff unanimously resolved to return to work immediately.—Aus.-N.Z Cabl# Assn.
