FRENCH MAN-POWER PROBLEM.
CALLING UP OF 18-YEAR-OLDS DECIDED ON. (Received Aug. 5. 9.5 a.m.) PARIS, Aug. 3. The Chamber, by 325 to 47, decided to call up 18-year-old men M. Clemenceau, m a speech upon the whole man-power problem, summed it up in one sentence by saying that the Government had made the maximum concessions compatible with the necessities of war, and every attenj.pt to amend the Bill would be treated as a question of want of confidence.— Aus.-N.Z.
