The annual report of the railways and tramways shows that the railways' deficit was £28,916, though the earnings increased by £574,795. The' tramways showed a surplus of £40,835, and the working expenses disclosed a reduction of £88,107. It is estimated the railways lost £425,000, and the tramways £150,000 as a result of the big strike.—Press Assn.
