At the out^ break of war he enlisted in the EXpewith the Mam Body. He served during the greater part of the campaign on England. After receiving treatment at Walton-on-Thanies for nearly a year he recovered sufficiently to return to New Zttlaod. and ultimately to resume his professional work. Corporal Walker wL a general favorite, and his death at the 1 ¥£ of 25 Tears will *<>■ deeply regretted by a large circle of friends. He was well-known in Hawera where he was a member of th e Hawera Tennis Club and also the Golf Club. At last night s service at St. Mary's the Rev <-;. ±i. urant Cow-en made special referen^^° dec?ase<i's* splendid character, and the fortitude which he showed during his long period in hospital. The funeral, which will be with full mfli. tary honors, will take place at Hawera to-morrow The firing party and pallbearers will be returned soldiers
