Many Socialists demanded that before France made fresh sacrifices the Government should obtain from all the Allies' effectives class by class corresponding to France's efforts. M. Abrami, Under-Secretary for War, announced that the elder classes are being sent home when the 1920 class is serving, and that no man of the 1891 class or earlier will then be serving — Aus.-N.Z.
