{.B* TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 2. The Farmers' Union Conference elected the following officers: President, Sir James Wilson- vice-president, Mr G. W. Leadley; advisory committee: North Island, Messrs E. A". Campbell, T. Moss and J. Boddie; South Island, Messrs H. D. Vavasour, G. Sheat and J. McQueen; Treasurer, Mr W. J. Buick. The conference passed resolutions urging a substantial increase in teachers' salaries; and also asking the Government to provide farm schools for education and training all rural workers in the science and practice of agriculture.
