FOURTH LIBERTY LOAN
ALLIED FOOD PROBLEMS
RIGID ECONOMY STILL NECESSARY.
PV CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION- -. OPYE^GHT. (Received Aug. 2, 11.35 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Aug. 1. It is officially announced that the Fourth Liberty Loan campaign will start on Septemmer 28 and end on October 19th for not less than six billion dollars.
The food administrators, acting under the engagement between France, Italy and the United States, have cabled to the United States Government from London as follows: —"We cannot administer the food problem on the basis of one year more of war, but must prepare for a long continuance to ensure absolute victory." The message adds that while increased production in the United States will render some relaxation of the restrictions possible, yet it is necessary that rigid economy and elimination of waste shall be practised in Allied countries and the United States.
