ALLIED INTERVENTION IN SIBERIA.

PRESIDENT WILSON'S VIEWS

MODIFIED

AGREEMENT WITH JAPAN

LIKELY

(Received July 19,. 1 p.m.) LONDON, July 18

The Daily Chronicle says that diplomatic correspondents foreshadow immediate Allied intervention in, Siberia. Following the Czechoslovaks' arrival at Valdivostock, President Wilson modified his earlier views, and no longer requires a formal invitation from the Soviet before considering Allied action in Russia is justified.

There is every reason to believe that an active agreement between Tokio and Washington is approaching. Japan, however, is not so enthusiastic for intervention as before. The Government is still favorable, but there is opposition in commercial circles.—Aus - N.Z. Cable Assn.
