THE FRENCH WAR ORPHAN ASSOCIATION.

The sum of £12 10s was taken at the latnotic flower stall and tea rooms on •Saturday for the' appeal for the little orphan children in France. The presi?vn^£' s Scott).- and ladies of the W.C.i.U. generously provided morning and afternoon tea, assisted by the Misses Grantham and Linn. A donation ot £1 was received from Mr J. J Patterson, Manaia, and also £1 7s'from Miss Lysaght. On Saturday next and the following Saturday, assistance for this most urgent and deserving appeal! will be very thankfully received at the patriotic stall and depot, and subscrip tions by his Worship th e Mayor.
