Opawa Welter —1 Blue Gown 1, 2 Skedaddle 2, 4 Lady Phyllis 3. Also started: Transmission and John Gilpin. Won easily by two lengths. Time, 1.33. Marlborough Cvp —1 Henry Clay 1, 6 Haumakaka 2, 2 Ladify 3. Also start, ed: Achilledes, Good Hope, Xanthos, Rienzi. Won by a short head, half a length separating the next two. Time, 2.12.

Dash Handicap—2 Rawakore 1, 1 Gold Problem 2, 9 Arihia 3. Also started: Rosevear, War Tax, Eron Boy, Royal Sleeves, Silk Ribbon, Trickery, and Stutter. Won easily. Time, 1.2 2-5. Also started: War Tax, Humorist, Transmission AVon. by a length and a half. Time, 1.6. A JOCKEY'S APPEAL. WANGANUI, May 14. The Wanganui District Commitrt^e to-night heard an appeal by Jockey W. Young against the decision of the Manawatu Jockey Club, disqualifying him for two years for pulling Ibex in £he Woodhey Handicap at the Manawatu meeting. The appeal was dismissed.
