MASSACRES AND BATTLES
(Received May 15, 11.30 a.m.) _ " ; MOSCOW, May 14. Official—After the White Guards had occupied Tammerfors, 500 Russian officers and soldiers were shot in groups of 10 or oO with machine guns. A desperate and bloody battle was fought at Lahti, in which 4000 White Guards and Germans were killed. Many civilians were killed by the German bombardment.—Aus.-N.Z. C.A and Reuter.
