WHEREABOUTS OF MACKENSEN'S DIVISIONS MYSTERIOUS

Ooionel Repmgton, writing in the Morning Post, * s ay s that though the next will be the most critical stage and a German attack may be expected this week or next, it i s uncertain whether the Austrians will be able to comply with the German desire for a concurrent attack on Italy, as, owing to the lateness of the season, the Italian rivers are still flooded. A mysterious element i s the whereabouts of General Mackensen's divisions, which were on the East front when the German attack began.
Colonel Repmgton's view is thatHhe idoa of an oversea attack against Britain being revived is improbable.-Aus.-N.Z. Cable Association.
