WELLINGTON, May 15. lhe report to be submitted to the an £^k m£ ei* ing New Zealand" Rugby Union at the end of the month points out that although the work for tne year disclosed a nominal accretion to the accumulated fund, attention must again be drawn to the steady growth ot the amount which appears in the balance-sheet under the heading "Interest due and owing on mortgages" During the period under review, this item has increased by £190 i 2s kxj and now stands at £714 16 s sd. Another matter which must be noted is the com. paratively large amount owing for unions' subscriptions. Altogether the position is sucl that the remaining liquid funds of the Union will" require to b e carefully husbanded in order to prevent further depletion. With regret, the committee has again to comment on the fact that the New South Wales and Queensland Unions have not yet repaid the amount of £362 ds lld advanced in 1913, as mentioned in previous reports.
