An obliging garage proprietor, anxious to take advantage of every prospect of business, was called upon about a week ago by a young man, Frederick E. Simmiss, who stated that he was the son of a wealthy gentleman residing at Wanganui, and wished to buy a car, says the Post. A trial was suggested, a chauffeur was provided from the garage, and a spin was made along the Hutt road. After some distance had been covered, Simmiss requested the driver to make enquiries at a house by the roadside, and in his absence drove away with the car.
