Referenoe was made by Mr L. 0. Hooker at last night's meeting of the Chamber of Commerce to the successful character of the British Trades Exhibition held in connection with the last Winter Show. As the members were aware, he said, Mr R. W. Dalton, British Trade Commissioner in New Zealand, had inaugurated the scheme^ to whom the great success of the exhibition was due. He thought it would be fitting | for the Chamber to forward a letter to Mr Dalton, expressing its appreciation to him for instituting the exhibition m Hawera. which had been the finest advertisement the town and district had ever received He knew that already many business men were receiving benefits as the result of the British trade exhibition. The speaker moved in the direction indicated. The motion was seconded by Mr E. C. Hayton and carried.
