Guild the Ladies' Branch Committee ; decided to again send Christmas boxes t to our local lads away fighting, and to adopt the same arrangements as for last , year. Mrs James, at the post office, will accept all gifts of ingredients for cakes, also tobacco, and other suitable . sundries. Arrangements have been made for the baking, and a day will be appointed for, packing and sending away i tne boxes by post, in time to reach our boys by Christmas. A few of our local ladies have been very hard at work sewing on Tuesdays for the Belgians, with the result that a' large number of outfits of suitable1 warm clothing have been made. This is very necessary patriotic work, and every lady who can should make an effort to do a little towards helping along the efforts of the Guild. vAr has been received from the V.M.C.A., Wellington, by Mr W A Curteis, secretary of the Manga'toki .Patriotic Society. It acknowledges receipt for £3 19s, being amount realised by the sale of a cake donated by Miss &.
