OVER-ANXIOUS TO ENLIST
BY .TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. PALMERSTON N., Aug. 27. A youth., who was charged at the Court this .morning with. '- .^giving his wrong age vr1 order to enlist, was convicted, but no fine was .imposed. Major McDonnell said a •number of similar cases had cost the •Government a lot of money through parents asking for the release of their -sons, some of the young men having ■got as far as England. No fine was ;.asked for, but the department wanted the present case to be a lesson to Ijoung men tempted to enlist when .under military age.
