NOTICE is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Hawera j County Council held on Saturday, the j 9th day of June, 1917, a resolution was ; j passed under Seotions 23. 25, and 60 3 of the "Counties Act, 1908, ' and will . be submitted for confirmation as a special older at a special meeting of the v incil to be held on Saturday, the Li'h day of August, 1917, at 11 a.m., at the office of the County Council, in Princes Street, Hawera. The effect of the said resolution is:— 1. The present division of the County into four Ridings is (revoked, and in lieu thereof the County shall be divided into 3 Ridings, to be . called respectively, Hawera Rid- | ing, Ararata Riding, Mokoia » Riding. The Hawera and Ararata Ridings shall comprise of the whole of tth.e Hawera and Ararata Ridings respectively as 1 they existed immediately before the passing of the said special order. The Mokoia Riding shall ' comprise of the whole of the Mo. '" koia and Meremere Ridings re-- ; spectively, as they existed im- ; mediately before the passing of the said special order. 1 2. Tn lieu of 6 members, the said ; Hawera . County Council shall consist of 8 members, who shall be elected as follows:—The electors of the Hawera and Mokoia Ridings shall each elect 3 councillors. The electors of the Ararata Riding shall elect 2 councillors. 3. J'iie alterations made by the said special order in the Ridings and in the number of the Council and in the number of members of the said Ridings respectively, shall take effect at the General Election of Councillors to be held m the month of November, 1917 ex cept m so far ami to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for that election.
