NEW ZEALAND LEGHORN CLUB (NORTH ISLAND)

The annual meeting of the above club was held in Hawera during show week. There was a good attendance of members. Mr J. Jarvis (Palmerston North), president, was in the chair.

The report and balance-sheet was read and adopted, the latter showing the club to be in a good financial position.

Officers for the year were elected as follows: President, Mr J. Jarvis; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Nixon, C. Cudby, P. L. Jewries, A. M. Atkins, G. N. Horn, and Don. Stewart; treasurer, Mr J. Cunningham; council (with headquarters at Palmerston North), Messrs T. Bruce, W. Young, G. Allman and K. H. Haley. After the general business of the meeting had concluded, the president gave a statement of the work that had I been done during the past year,/and pointed out to members the necessity of making the objects of the club more widely known to Leghorn fanciers in this district, with a view to increasing the membership. The president was instructed to obtain a shield for the Utility Leghorns, and on an appeal being made for donations towards cost of same half of the required amount was subscribed in the room.

Votes of thanks to the president, hon. secretary and treasurer, auditor, and to the Winter Show Co. for the i^se of room for meeting, brought the meeting to a close.
