ALLIED AIR LOSSES

GERMAN STATEMENT UTTERLY

FALSE

(Reiiter Message.) (Received July 12, 12.15 p.m.) LONDON, July 11. The figures given in the German communique on air losses for June are entirely false. On the British front alone 131 German machines were destroyed and 99 others wiven down uncontrollable. The French accounted for 45, and the Belgians for four. No record was kept of the number of French machines downed, but as the number of British machines officially reported as lost was 78, and as the heaviest fighting occurred on the British front, it is obvious that the German figures placing the Allied losses a,t 220, are absurd.
