PARIS, July 11
Survivors of the United States vessel Orleans, which was torpedoed, state that when the vessel sank the captain was drawn under water, but was later picked tip by a yacht. Meanwliile the submarine circled round the boatload of survivors, and an officer asked where the captain was. The survivors replied that they believed he went down with the shin, and the officer cursed in English", saying, "There is a price of twenty-four thousand marks on his head, and we want him."
