FOOTBALL.
Seeing that Rugby football has suffered so badly during the war on account or laranaki men playing their part in the present great crisis, a start nas been made to Keep the ball rolling until times return to* normal The meeting called for last Tuesday evening was well attended, and" by the enthusiasm shown Hawera should be able to put in a good team for this season s games. Over thirty youths were present, including members of' The Hawera. Football Club. Mr M. J Lynskey was unanimously voted to the chair, and on his motion it was agreed to enter a team for the South Taranaki competition. All present notified then- intention of joining the Hawera Club. Therefore the teams selected to represent this district can be assured or tne heartiest support. A practice is to be held this evening in the Show Buildings, and a large attendance is requested, as a team will be chosen for the opening game on Saturday against Manaia.
