HEAVY GERMAN ATTACK BEATEN OFF.
The High Commissioner reports from London on July Bth at 3.30 p.m. — A French official report staltes: BefcAveen the Aisne and Laffaux, the Germans, following a very intense bombardment, attacked/ on four separate sections Avith a maximum strength. Our desperate resistance frustrated them, the enemy losing heavily and the position being maintained.
