DUTCH PROTEST TO BRITAIN
(Received July 9, 1.5 p.m.) THE HAGUE, July 8. It having been officially pointed out that Britain's new Avar zone was disadvantageous to Dutch interests, Britain replied that her measures had been taken for military reasons, adding that Dutch shipping had other means of access. Holland will ask for reconsideration, stating that other routes are dangerous owing to mines and submarines.
