APPEAL CASES.

The Fii-st Military Service Board sat J on Saturday.. I The appeals of 0. H. Marx, J. H. \ Gwynne, A. Campbell, and J. Steele were dismissed, and appellants granted leave until August 21; the appeals of A. Crocker and C. W. Carlson were also dismissed, leave being granted until September 18. The appeal of John Goodwin "McCarty, dairy farmer, Manaia, a sine die case, for whom Mr Welsh appeared, was reoonsider.ed. Johnston McCarty, the father of the appellant, said he had two sons out of four in camp; the other was a Second Division man, working his own farm, •while the appellant assisted witness on his farm of 200 acres, on which he was milking 70 cows. The married son's farm was opposite witness' farm. He could not manage the farm without appellant. To Captain '•Walker: He did not con. sider the question of sharemilking, as there was the difficulty of getting good men. Decision was reserved. •The section 35 appeal of Gerald O'Reilly, larmer, Waverley, was allowed, and his ballot appeal-was formally dismissed, appellant having been boarded C& Leslie William Catchpole, 'farmer, Taa-ata, for whom Mr Spratt appeared, j appealed on the grounds of public in- j terest and undue hardship.
