PEKING, July 7. General Chang Shim's royalist troops are fighting a large force of Republicans 35 miles from Pekin. It is feared that Chang Shim's position is hopeless. Chang Shim's ta-oops have torn up the. railway at Langsang, midway between Tientsin and P.ekin. It is understood the Foreign Powers are sending detachments to restore railway communi. cation. Anglo-French, Japanese, and American troops are proceeding fto Pekin to reinforce the Legation- guards.
