WELCOME TO RETURNED MEN

Sergeant Campbell (Hawera), Privates Herbert (Otakeho) and Arnold (Hawera) arrived back in Hawera by Saturday evening's express after eeemg active service in France. The station was decorated -with bunting kindly lent by Mr Sage, and the large number of citizens present gave the returned soldiers a hearty welcome. The Mayor <Mr E. Dixon)^ in extending a welcome to the men, said that m the days to come stories would he told of the heroic deeds performed Isy the soldiers at all the fronts, and when the children of the future asfced the returned men what was their part in the great war they would be able to say that they had done their duty nobly.. Cheers were given for the soldiers and their comrades going north.
