WANGANUI.
[ Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Wanganui, report having heid their usual sale on the 23rd inst. at the Wanganui saleyards, when they had a full yarding of bocii sheep and cattle and a good attendance of buyers. Sheep were somewhat irregular of sale, the owners' ideas of values, particularly in the case of breeding ewes, being slightly in excess of what buyers were prepared to pay. Store ewes and lambs were well competed for. There was a fair competition for young cattle, but grown sorts were hard to quit, and were mostly passed at auction. Good business was effected after the sale, and they report practically a total clearance. Prices were as under — Sheep—Fat weta-ers 375, forward empty ewes 28s 5d .store ditto 20s Id to 22s od-, small 2-tooth wethers 26s lOd, medium woolly iamh= 20s, medium shorn lambs 15s to' 15s 7d, cull black-faced shorn lambs 9s 5d to 9s Bd. Cattle—2o-month Shorthorn steers £8 5s to £8 IDs, medium 3year-old steers £13 17s 6d, 20-month heifers £5 7s 6d, heifers with calves £6 10s, small steer calves 34s 6d, cull cows £2 12s to £4 6s.
