A Paris message states that Ranavolo, ex-Queen of Madagascar, has died at Algiers. The public debt of the Napier Harbor Board is £543,000. Th<* sinking funds in hand total £151,109 16s lOd, all of which is invested and interestbearing. A German submarine which sank through explosion of one of her own mines sown in an Italian harbor before war between Italy and Germany was declared, has been recovered after over twelve months' submersion. Fished up by the Italians to the light of day, she is turning a new leaf, and is about to enter on an honest and upright life. She is being cleaned, repaired, and refitted, and, like a companion enemy submarine raised many months ago from the bottom of the Adriatic off Venice, will soon take her place in the Italian Navy to fight honestly in defence of the vessels she sougt formerly under false colors to destroy.
