The executive committee of the Irish Unionist Alliance met at Dublin and approved of Lord M'ddleton's letter to the Premier, and is taking steps to lay the proposal for a convention before the council of the Alliance. A meeting of Orangemen at Monaghan pas*se<T a resolution of willingness to discuss Irish questions with the Nationalists provided that Ulstermen's rights as citizens of the British Empire were protected.
