MONTHLY MEETING

Among the business dealt with by the I Taranaki Land Board at its meeting on | Wednesday were it-he following matters : — APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. Sections 10 and 28, Block XL, Omona S.D., 20a. Ir. Op, J. W. Richards and Jos. Reid. —Approved. TRANSFERS AND SUB-LEASES. Sections 15, 17, Block I, Mahoe S.D., 169 a. 3r. W. Baker and J. G. King to William Gill. —Approved under special circumstances. Section 9, Block VII, Omona S.D., 58a. 2r., J. W. Gedge to S. H. James. Paat Section 16, Bl<^ttk 111, Omona S.D., 33a. 2r. 12p., J. W. Gedge to S. H. James. —Recommended for approval of Minister of Lands. MISCELLANEOUS. The Commissioner submitted the eases of the following sections proposed to be re-opened under Part 111. of the Land Act, 1908 for *the reconsideration of the Board: — *- v Section 5, Block VIII, Omona S.D., 760 acres, and Section 12, Block VII. Omona S.D., 316 acres. —Resolved to rescind the Board's previous resolution and have the lands offered at the same capital value under the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act.' LAND FOR DISCHARGED SOLDIERS. Wijth respect to the Tututawa Settlement,1 opened for application by discharged soldiers on 22nd inst.. it was resolved to approve of the following applications, subject to applicants making a personal inspection of the land and notifying the Commissioner of same within one week from date, subject also to payment of required deposits within thirty days from date: —Section 2S, 183 acres, T. H. Trask; Section 3S, 345 acres, A. C. Maxwell. «. It was Tesolved to reject the following applications for the reason stated in each instance: —Section IS, Jesse Butler, no appearance; Section 2S, George Butler, no appearance; Section 3S, R. J. Simpson, received too late. The Board also approved _of N. B. Howell's application for Section IS. IS? acres, conditional upon no other application being received before 4 p.m.. also a personal inspection of land within three days from date and payment ol the required deposit within thirty days thereafter. —Abridged from News.
