The amount realised from the Dar--danelles stall and tea rooms last Saturday was £17, which the committee handed to the treasurer of the Returned Soldiers' Club. The secretary of the Red Cross Society wishes to acknowledge with thanks a donation of £3 3s for the bandage department from Mrs Higham, the proceeds of an afternoon tea held at her home on Thursday, May 13. The Mayoress has received a communication from the Wellington branch of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Navy i League, in which it is stated that that j committee is sending forward periodiI cally garments to assist in relieving | the distress of the dependents of naval men who have lost their lives during the present war. The committee earnestly requests the help and support of all, especially in the form of new materials from which garments can be made. Donations for this very deserving purpose may be left at 'the BorI ough Council Chambers.
