The deceased (says th e , Post) was born at Picton'(Marl borough), and in early life was a contractor in the Manawatu district Later he took up farming in Taranaki and for some time was so engaged, on the Waimate Plains. In June last he became seriously ill and was admitted to the Stratford Hospital.
