He is 38 years :of age. i The death occurred at Stratford y.es-' terday, at the age of 49 of Mr Henry William Mudfoi-d. The deceased (says th e , Post) was born at Picton'(Marl borough), and in early life was a contractor in the Manawatu district Later he took up farming in Taranaki and for some time was so engaged, on the Waimate Plains. He was for some years a member of the Waimate West Gountv Council, and was well-known throughout the district. Comihgtb Stratford about four years ago, he started a ! motor garage in Broadway South. In June last he became seriously ill and was admitted to the Stratford Hospital. After an oper»h there^e S-Sdl!^ home, but gradually sank, and passed quietly away on Wednesday mo?ning^ He leaves a widow, two sons and four daughters to mourn their loss. A recent hospital and progress repcfrt mentions that Rifleman Wv^rielcher, son of Mr J. D. Belcher, Cardi^ is in hospital at Oxford, seriously ill from wounds. Private R. Kindbere son of MrSiG. A: Kindberg, New Plymouth, is reported seriously ill in the New Zeal land general hospital at Brockenhurst.
