PATRIOTIC PURPOSES.
RED CROSS SHOP
At the Red Cross shop on Saturday, the cushion was won by Mrs Dallinger, Disraeli street, who guessed the correct number of b.eans in the bottle (270). The correct weight of the cake was 13 lbs loz. Mr N. Lavery and Mr J. C Smith guessed lSlbs, Mr Standish and Mr Clarmgbold guessed 131bs 2ozs. In the draw Mr Smith was the winner. The sheep weighed 961bs, and was correctly guessed by Ma- Marx, Mr Whalen, and Mr Duffill. Mr Whalen won the draw, and very kindly returned the prize money. In the last report the donation from. the Meremere school children should have iread as twelve shillings and tenpence.
