SPORTS AND PASTIMES.
GOLF.
Unfortunately the weather was so bad on tne ciosing' day that the usual formai closing events could not be held. It is to be regretted, because this annual function is one of the pleasantest afternoon programmes during the year, and always attracts a large attendance of members and friends. This is the more to be regretted because next weeic there will be no general holiday on Wednesday, and. the forward state of the grass on the course will not allow a rurther postponement. The season has, considering all circumstances, b.een successful. The committee have, however, been faced by very great difficulties. The utmost assistance is now-a-days! required from all members. All clubs' are being carried on in ciie face, of big. handicaps. This applies more to the games which are played by the younger men where enlistments make great inroads.
