LIKELY TO BE DELAYED
(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington; Oct. 21. The transference of the Eastern Extension Company cable office from Wakapuaka to Wellington is not likely to take place so soon as anticipated. Some 150 miles of new cable is reqxiired and this will not reacn Wellington before the end of January at the earlies£ whilst the repairing steamer, Patrol, will not be available much before March, and will then have a large amount of work to do before the cable can be linked up to Titahi Bay." Meanwhile, construction of trenches to carry the shore end from that bay to Wellington, and the preparation of offices here will be pushed on, to have 'everything in • readiness for the final move.
