HEALTH OF THE CAMPS

(BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. Oct. 12;

Surgeon-General Henderson stated today that there were two bad cases, in. Trentham Camp, one. of pneumonia and the other cerebr'o^spinal meningitis; otherwise the conditions are satisfactory .At Featherston Camp one man'is dangerously ill of measles and pneumonia. Of the fiva meningitis cases three are convalescent, one is better and one is still dangerously ill. Asked how the new spray treatment for meningitis was answering, SurgsonGeneral Henderson said it Had hardly been in use long enough to enable a definite conclusion to be formed. In one or two cases of men found to be "carriers," however the spray seemed to be successful in removing the cocciis from the throat. From experiments made, the new treatment seemed to promise well. In one case a man's throat was cleared of germs in two days. In another case one day's treatment produced a distinct improvement.
