A German communique states: Numerous enemy attacks, extending far northward of the Ancre, enabled him to establish himself on a narrow fr__ in our first line between Morvai and Bouchavesnes. North-east of Thiepval fighting continues for a small point d'Appui. The French penetrated Ver. mandovillers, cutting off a salient including the Genermont and Bouvent farms. South-east of RheiniG we penetrated the French third line.

The enemy is resuming operations in the Maros Valley. He retired in the Goerzeny Vally. northeast of Parajd, and ths pursuit continues. The second Roumanian army- is at Brasso.
