Waverley Handicap—Quinologist 1, Batchelor's . Persse 2, Gadabout 3. Eight starters. Time, 3.5._. Dowling' Steeplechase—Okaihau 1, Bibbenluke 2. Tnere were eight starters, but only three finished. Won by two and a half lengths'. Time, 6,51. (The cable does not mention the nanie of the third horse.) Grantham Stakes—Eastcourt 1, Mafioso 2, Irish Comedy 3. Nine starters. Won by one and a half lengths. Time, 1.4 _d. Randwick Plate; two miles—Mr 1. C. Trautwein's b h Bursar (imp.), 9.3, 1; Carlita 2, Cagou 3. Six starters. 'Cavuita led to the distance, when Bursar, with a great run, overhauled her and won by two lengths. Time, 3.33. Sydney Handicap—Agincourt 1, Garlin 2,'Fantasie 3. ..There were seventeen starters. Won by one and a halt lengths. Time, 2.1. The weather was showery, and tne going was a trifle heavy. The attendance was fair, but the scratchings ot practically all the New Zealand horses detracted from the interest of the racing. . . ' ■
A Press Association message states that, in consequence of the parade of the 18th Reinforcements in Auckland on Saturday, the spring meeting1 of the Auckland Trotting Club has been postponed to next Wednesday and the following Saturday.
