STATE FARMS.
MINISTER DISAPPROVES OF SELL-
ING ANY PART
Some time ago, when the proposal to sell part of the State Farms was made known, a meeting of the Farmers' Union at Waverley passed a resolution condemning this in the interests of Moumahaki. A copy was forwarded to the member for the -district, Mr G. V. Pearce, and he communicated with the Government on the subject. After acknowledging Mr Pearce's letter, the Minister for Agriculture (Hon. M. Mac Donald) has replied as follows: —"I may state- that I have gone carefully into the recommendations of the Board of Agriculture, but I do not deem it advisable to sell any portion of the State Farms at the present- time. I am very pleased indeed .that you are in accord with the resolutions passed by the Waverley branch of the Farmers' Union."' . I
