THE OCTOBER DRAFT
The total of the October draft required for the next reinforcements, is 115, but up to the present only 52 men have been' sworn.in to proceed to camp on October 16th.' If the balance do not enlist during the next seven days, compulsion will have to be resorted to by means of the ballot, as provided by the Military Service Act.
Mr J. W. Paterson, of Lake road, li,ts received a telegram' from the Minister of Defence to the effect that his son Alec had been wounded in the Tight fore-arm, and is now in hospital. The Minister offers his sympathy, and hones for a speedy recovery for the wounded soldier.
