LONDON, Oct. 6. General Sir Douglas Haig states.: The enemy counter-attacks in -the Thiepval area were severely handled and repulsed. Between July 1 and September 30 we captured 29 heavy guns and heavy ho vitzers. 92 field guns and field howitzers, 103 trench artillery^ pieces, and 397 machine guns, , PARIS, Oct. .6. ,A communique states.: We continue to progress "east of Morval.
