(Australian-N.Z. Cable Association.) SYDNEY, Oct. 6. The weather has cleared, and tomorrow's race prospects are brighter. It is stated that Mr Stead presented MacLachlan (the rider of Kilboy) with a cheque for £1000 after winning the Derby.
The following New Zealand horses have been, scratched: For the Clibborn Stakes, Pro Tern; for all Randwiek engagements, Spangle, Briar Patch, and Martuck. •
